• Driver sentenced after dragging Villa Rica officer during traffic stop (wsbtv.com) — A Carroll County man has been sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years for kidnapping and assaulting a Villa Rica police officer during a 2025 traffic stop in the city. Prosecutors say Officer Victoria Hamilton was dragged by the suspect's car and still managed to escape and help secure his conviction, drawing praise from Villa Rica's police chief and the district attorney.
