Authorities began investigating the man after receiving a tip that he was selling fentanyl and methamphetamine in Woodstock.

CANTON, GA — A 35-year-old man has been sentenced to prison after prosecutors say he pled guilty to multiple drug charges in Cherokee County.

Woodstock resident Quentodd Montell Pinkins was sentenced to 30 years after he entered a negotiated guilty plea to drug trafficking charges on June 2, according to Cherokee County District Attorney Susan K. Treadaway's office.

Authorities began investigating Pinkins after receiving a tip that he was selling fentanyl and methamphetamine in 2025 in Woodstock, prosecutors said.

Agents with the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad conducted four controlled purchases, during which prosecutors said Pinkins sold fentanyl at various locations near Highway 92.

On March 19, 2025, the day of the last controlled purchased, prosecutors said Pinkins sold about 7 grams of fentanyl. He was taken into custody later in the day.

When the Cherokee County SWAT team searched his home and vehicle, prosecutors said CMANS agents found fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine, a digital scale, cards containing trace amounts of fentanyl, a Smith and Wesson a 0.357 revolver and $1,411 in cash.

Testing later confirmed the substances included trafficking amounts of fentanyl and methamphetamine, prosecutors said.

“Each controlled purchase strengthened the case against the defendant and led investigators to recover trafficking quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine,” Cherokee County Assistant District Attorney Leland McElveen said in a news release. “This defendant showed a complete disregard for public safety by brazenly conducting drug deals in plain sight in the (business) parking lots.”

Pinkins pled guilty to three counts of sale of fentanyl, three counts of illegal use of communication facility, three counts of trafficking fentanyl and trafficking of methamphetamine, prosecutors said.

He was sentenced to 15 years in prison with the remainder of his 30-year sentence to be served on probation with special conditions. Additionally, he must pay a $200,000 fine.

“Fentanyl continues to devastate families and communities across Georgia,” Treadaway said in the release. “Those who profit from distributing this deadly poison should expect significant prison sentences. We will continue working with our law enforcement partners to hold traffickers accountable and keep these dangerous narcotics off our streets.”
