1. OHA, City Begin Discussions on Shared Public Vision for Kakaʻako Look Lab Site (oha.org) — Honolulu officials and the Office of Hawaiian Affairs are exploring a shared vision for the vacant Look Lab site in Kakaʻako Makai, next to Kakaʻako Waterfront Park. Early talks focus on combining ocean safety facilities with OHA's planned Native Hawaiian Cultural Center, potentially reshaping how this waterfront public land serves Honolulu and Oʻahu communities in the long term.
   

2. 2 suffer burn injuries after tent fire in Nanakuli (staradvertiser.com) — Two people were pulled from a burning tent along Farrington Highway in Nanakuli early this morning after Honolulu firefighters discovered them while attacking a small rubbish fire. Honolulu EMS treated both for serious burn injuries, transporting the woman in critical condition and the man in serious condition, underscoring ongoing safety concerns for vulnerable residents living in roadside encampments.
   

3. AIA Design Awards 2026 (hawaiibusiness.com) — Honolulu readers can see how local architecture is being honored, from innovative school facilities in Nuʻuanu to sustainable homes in Pālolo and major civic landmarks like the State Capitol and Honolulu Museum of Art.
