• REMINDER: Real property tax exemption deadline is today (thegardenisland.com subscription) — If you own property in Koloa, today is your last chance to file for real property tax exemptions, with no extensions allowed. Real Property staff are accepting applications in person at the Koloa hurricane resource center and other locations, and you can also submit forms online, by email, drop box, or mail, with contact numbers provided for questions.
• Lowell recovery and County services update (thegardenisland.com subscription) — Koloa residents can access hurricane recovery help at the Koloa Neighborhood Center, where resource staff, unemployment and SNAP assistance, and real property tax support are available this week. The update also details debris pickup rules, utility restoration, bus fare changes, building repair rules, and reopened markets and facilities across Kauaʻi so you can plan repairs, food access, and transportation during Lowell recovery.
• Kauai Pop Warner Football League gets its moment in the sun (thegardenisland.com subscription) — Young athletes from across Kauaʻi, including the Koloa Cubs, gathered in Kapaʻa for a rescheduled Pop Warner Jamboree that finally kicked off after Hurricane Lowell delays. The event honored top scholar-athletes and celebrated the return of youth football and cheer, while league leaders promised schedules will be announced once the county confirms field availability.
