1. ITD's Boise building had asbestos as fire protection. Then came a flood. Now what? (idahostatesman.com) — Idaho Transportation Department is pushing ahead with rehabilitating its flood-damaged Boise headquarters on State Street, where asbestos removal and design work are underway. Costs have ballooned toward nearly $70 million, prompting plans to seek about $20 million more from lawmakers and raising questions from Boise Rep. John Gannon about whether rebuilding is the most cost-effective choice for taxpayers and local road funding.
2. Here's why Boise's 9/11 memorial is so personal to the artist (boisestatepublicradio.org) — Boise's World Trade Center Memorial along the Greenbelt offers a quiet, reflective space as the 25th anniversary of 9/11 approaches. Artist J. Amber Klinsky and Mayor Lauren McLean share how the salvaged steel beam, firefighter ties, and Klinsky's own experience as a flight attendant make this memorial especially personal for Boise residents.
3. Division of Research and Economic Development names FY27 Faculty Fellows (boisestate.edu) — Boise State is naming three new Faculty Fellows to help steer the university's research priorities and partnerships from fall 2026 through March 2027. 4.
