He'll serve at least three and a half years in prison and remain on the sex offender registry for life, marking Boise's first local test of the 2024 AI child-exploitation statute.
3. Coming Home: Connecting Women With Reentry Resources (idahonews.com) — Women in Boise navigating life after incarceration can connect with jobs, housing, and support resources through the Coming Home: Women's Reentry Networking Group at the Library! at Cole & Ustick. The group meets every fourth Wednesday from noon to 1:15 p.m., bringing together service organizations and women with lived experience to share information, encouragement, and practical help.
4. Boise School District unveils 8 new electric busses (ktvb.com) — Boise School District is rolling out eight new electric school buses this year, funded by a $2.76 million EPA grant. The buses will cut emissions on Boise routes, improve air quality for students, and showcase student-driven climate advocacy as they quietly serve 20–30 schools each day.
5. 'A gem' in Boise for years, this family-owned restaurant has closed (idahostatesman.com) — A longtime Chinese restaurant in a Southeast Boise strip mall, Season Wok on South Broadway, has quietly closed after years as a low-key neighborhood favorite. Despite middling online ratings, many locals considered it a humble, family-run "gem" and shared fond reviews of its comforting American-style Chinese dishes and welcoming owners.
