Former Boise School District teacher speaks on Timberline High School incident (idahonews.com) β Boise families are watching closely as Boise Police lead an investigation into violent threats against a Timberline High School student, prompting postponement of most homecoming events. A former Boise School District teacher turned advocate says the case is being handled appropriately, while calling for stronger training and proactive policies on consent, bullying, and student safety.

Boise Airport to adds nonstop flight to this Southern vacation destination (idahostatesman.com) β Boise travelers will gain a new nonstop Southwest Airlines route to Nashville starting June 5, 2027, with Saturday-only seasonal flights through July. The Boise Airport now lists 30 nonstop destinations, including upcoming seasonal service to Honolulu, expanding vacation and connection options for local flyers.

Boise receives $9M federal grant towards downtown development for people exiting homelessness (ktvb.com) β Boise has secured a rare $9 million federal HUD grant to help build The Fulton, a 50-unit supportive housing project for people exiting homelessness on city-owned land downtown. Planned near Fire Station 5, the development joins other land trust projects and aims to expand long-term housing options, though a construction timeline has not yet been announced.

Main Street closure drives downtown Boise gridlock for months (ktvb.com) β Downtown Boise drivers are facing major backups as Main Street remains partially closed near Whitewater Park Boulevard for College of Western Idaho campus construction, limiting key access to the I-184 Connector. ACHD expects at least one lane to reopen by Oct. 16, with full completion targeted by Oct. 26, and urges commuters to consider alternate routes or transportation options.
