1. Eckert Rd. bridge and intersection work to begin (boisedev.com) — Expect major changes on Eckert Road starting Monday as the bridge over the Boise River in southeast Boise closes to through traffic for a multi-year replacement project. Local access between Boise Avenue and Millbrook Way will remain, with detours via Parkcenter and Bown. When finished in 2028, the bridge will add a multi-use path, greenbelt tunnel, better Barber Park access, and a new roundabout.
   

2. Idaho FD wins $2.3M grant to add four-person staffing at three stations (firerescue1.com) — Boise Fire is adding nine firefighters and expanding four-person crews at three more stations thanks to a $2.3 million FEMA grant, promising faster, safer responses citywide. The grant covers most costs for three years, with the rest already budgeted. New hires will join the January academy, and expanded staffing is expected to start in May.
   

3. West Boise families celebrate fall at Spaulding Ranch pumpkin patch (kivitv.com) — Families in West Boise turned out Saturday to pick free pumpkins and enjoy fall festivities at Spaulding Ranch, a historic city-owned property preserving Boise's agricultural roots. Neighbors wandered the patch, chose pumpkins to take home, and used the gathering space that's becoming a seasonal tradition for local families.
   

4. Dylan Riley leads No. 23 Boise State past Fresno State, 38-31 (ktvb.com) — Boise State fans can celebrate a big road win after the No. 23 Broncos beat Fresno State 38-31, powered by Dylan Riley's 150 rushing yards and two touchdowns. The team, representing Boise, has now won five straight and stays unbeaten in Pac-12 play heading into an upcoming trip to Washington State.
