Boise Fire Responds To Several River Incidents

Today was a busy time for the Boise Fire Department on the river, we responded to two incidents on the Boise River and one on the Greenbelt. The first call came in at 10:00 a.m. reporting a cardiac arrest on the Greenbelt near the Martin Footbridge. CPR was started by an off-duty Boise Police Officer and Boise Fire crews took over when they arrived. The man, in his 60’s had no pulse, but did eventually regain a pulse and was transported to the hospital.

We responded to the Boise River just before 1:30 p.m., after a woman jumped off the Baybrook Footbridge and hurt her back when she landed. Friends assisted her to a take-out point where she was treated by Ada County Paramedics.

At 4:15 today, several people were using a rope swing on the Boise River, just down from the Baybrook Footbridge. The tree holding the swing fell, landing on approximately ten people. Two men in their thirties suffered critical injuries, a woman in her twenties suffered moderate injuries and a teen had minor injuries, all were all taken to the hospital.
