Boise Searching For P&Z Applicants
The City of Boise is looking for people living in the Area of Impact to serve on the Planning and Zoning Commission.

BOISE, ID — The City of Boise is looking for people living in the city’s Area of Impact (see attached map) who are interested in serving on the Planning and Zoning Commission. The application period is open now for a seat on the commission.
The Planning and Zoning Commission makes final decisions on conditional use permits, planned unit developments and most variances. Members also review appeals of administrative decisions.

Commission members, appointed by Mayor Lauren McLean and affirmed by the Boise City Council, will provide recommendations on rezones, annexations, subdivisions, and amendments to both the Development Code and Comprehensive Plan. Commissioners also participate on various committees and workgroups focused on the City of Boise’s long-term planning initiatives.

The commission will represent, as much as possible, the diverse spectrum of people who enjoy all that Boise has to offer. Geographic diversity, as well as expertise and experience in areas relevant to the commission’s purpose, will be considered in the appointment process. Residents with backgrounds or experience in land use, environmental, and neighborhood planning, or related fields such as architecture, landscape architecture, and engineering are encouraged to apply.
Meeting Frequency: Ability to meet twice each month. Meetings are held the first two Mondays of the month, starting at 5:30 p.m.
Applicants must reside within the Area of Impact, outside of Boise City limits, and will serve a four-year term.
