Boise Theft Suspect Dodges Taser, Flees Ada County Deputies
A 21-year-old Boise man fled police in Ada County Wednesday afternoon.

BOISE, WA - A 21-year-old burglary suspect led Ada County deputies on a foot chase Wednesday afternoon after fleeing a traffic stop. At one point, a deputy hit the suspect with a shot from a Taser, but the weapon didn't make full contact, and he was able to shrug it off. The suspect eventually gave up and surrendered after running for about an hour through neighborhood backyards.
Around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Ada County deputies pulled over Cameron D. Gamel, of Boise, in a residential neighborhood in the county southwest of downtown Boise. Deputies did not see a license plate on his car. Gamel allegedly got out of his car to speak to a deputy, but then took off on foot.
After running through some backyards - and dodging the Taser sting - Gamel was cornered in a backyard along South Silverpine Way at around 3:30 p.m. He was brought to the hospital to get checked out after his arrest, but was later booked into the Ada County Jail on suspicion of felony grand theft, burglary, and resisting arrest.
