City Of Boise Announces Programming Changes To Protect Vulnerable Populations Due To Coronavirus
All programming at the Dick Eardley Senior Center is postponed and the center is closed to the public.
Press Release From the City of Boise: In light of the first confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) case in Ada County, the City of Boise is taking extra steps to promote the health and safety of our community.
Here are the latest program changes as this situation evolves:
Boise Public Library
Effective Monday, March 16, the Boise Public Library and the Friends of the Boise Public Library will be suspending the following services and programs system-wide:

- Homebound Services
- The Boise Public Library volunteer program
- Book donations
- Tree City Book sales at the Main Library store. Online sales will continue
Parks and Recreation
Effective immediately, all programming at the Dick Eardley Senior Center (690 Robbins Rd.) is postponed and the center is closed to the public. This closure will be in place until further notice.
Although the center is closed, the kitchen will remain in use by Metro Meals on Wheels to continue vital meal prep and lunch services. Free meals will be available for participants to pick-up Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. curb side at the senior center.

“The health of our participants is top priority,” said Boise Parks and Recreation Director Doug Holloway. “We are committed to continuing our partnership with Metro Meals on Wheels and providing healthy, nutritious lunches to participants every day during the week.”
Boise Parks and Recreation took over management of the Dick Eardley Senior Center in 2015 and the facility is typically open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
