City Of Boise: Mayor McLean Announces Neighborhood Investment Program Recipients

I am happy to announce the latest recipients of the City of Boise’s Neighborhood Investment Program. Part of the City’s Energize Our Neighborhoods initiative, the program funds improvements in neighborhoods across the city that enrich the lives of residents, enhance quality of life and encourage a strong sense of community.

In this most recent application cycle, project applications were accepted from November 1, 2020, through January 31, 2021. In all, 17 projects were proposed by 14 unique Neighborhood Associations in Boise.

The Neighborhood Investment Program committee selected 12 outstanding projects, for a total of $500,000 in funding, and allocated an additional $288,477 in funding for two additional projects – a crosswalk at 23rd Street and Bannock and lighting along the Boise River Greenbelt in the Lusk District – using contingency funds from the Neighborhood Investment Program 2021 funds and Community Development Block Grant Funds. A total of $788,477 has been awarded to neighborhoods across the city this year. Investment program funding for these projects will be made available in fiscal year 2022, but timelines for completion vary.
