City Of Boise Seeking Applicants For Open Space And Clean Water Advisory Committee

Applications are now open for Boise residents interested in serving on the Open Space and Clean Water Advisory Committee. There is currently one position available on the committee that advises on Open Space and Clean Water Levy funding and project support.

Mayor Lauren McLean appoints each committee member and they are then affirmed by the Boise City Council. Members make recommendations on open space land purchases and improvement projects to preserve native habitat, clean water, and wildlife in areas such as the Boise Foothills and the Boise River.

This volunteer committee aims to represent the diverse spectrum of people who enjoy Boise’s natural amenities including wildlife, native habitat, trails, pathways, and other outdoor recreational opportunities. Geographic diversity, as well as expertise and experience in areas relevant to the committee’s purpose, will be considered in the appointment process. Residents with backgrounds or experience in natural sciences, land management, environmental policy, real estate, health sciences, banking, or the outdoor recreation industry are encouraged to apply.

Meeting frequency: Members meet monthly. Meetings are typically held at 4 p.m. the first Thursday of each month at the Boise Depot. Meetings will be held remotely while Stay-Home Orders are in effect.
