City Of Boise Seeking Building Code Board Member

Residential Building Contractors interested in serving on the city’s Building Code Board can now apply. The Building Code Board hears and decides appeals of orders or determinations made by the Building Official or Fire Code Official; reviews updated building codes, ordinance updates, amendments, and fee update proposals, and makes recommendations to City Council.
All Building Code Board members are appointed by the Mayor and the Boise City Council. The current Building Code Board vacancy must be filled by a Residential Building Contractor and serve a four-year term. Residency in the City of Boise is preferred, Ada County residency is required.

With up to ten voting members, the Building Code Board will represent, as much as possible, the diverse spectrum of people in various construction and design disciplines who share the values that Boise has to offer. Expertise and experience in areas relevant to the Board’s purpose, will be considered in the appointment process. Residents with backgrounds and experience in residential building construction, building codes, and with knowledge of related fields such as architecture, landscape architecture, and engineering are encouraged to apply.
Meeting frequency: As needed. Often at least 1-2 times per year.
