City Of Boise Seeking Electrical Board Member
Licensed engineers and contractors interested in serving on the city's Electrical Board can now apply.

Licensed engineers and contractors interested in serving on the city’s Electrical Board can now apply. The Electrical Board hears and decides appeals of orders or determinations made by the Chief Electrical Inspector; reviews updated electrical codes, ordinance updates, amendments, and fee update proposals, and makes recommendations to City Council.

All Electrical Board members are appointed by the Mayor and the Boise City Council. The current board vacancy may be filled by an Idaho licensed engineer or an Idaho licensed electrical contractor. The appointed member must also serve a four-year term. Residency in the City of Boise is preferred, Ada County residency is required.
With up to seven voting members, the Electrical Board will represent, as much as possible, the diverse spectrum of people in various electrical construction trades and design disciplines who share the values that Boise has to offer. Expertise and experience in areas relevant to the Board’s purpose, will be considered in the appointment process. Residents with backgrounds and experience in residential and commercial building electrical installations or design, electrical codes, listings, and with knowledge of related fields such as solar photovoltaic systems, medical and industrial equipment installations, and electrical engineering are encouraged to apply.

Meeting frequency: As needed. Often at least 1-2 times per year.
