This morning just before 8 a.m. Boise Fire crews were called out to a reported structure fire on W. Williams St. Upon arrival a responding firefighter was found unconscious and unresponsive in their fire engine. His crew immediately began lifesaving care on scene. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is now in stable condition.

“This is the type of call you hope to never receive but we are grateful for his fellow firefighters, staff at Ada County Paramedics, and staff at St. Luke’s who were quick to respond and provide initial and ongoing lifesaving care.“ said Boise Fire Chief Mark Niemeyer. “Our thoughts and continued support will be with his family, as well as the members of the Boise Fire Department.”

Support is being provided to family members and at this point, there are no additional needs. If that changes we will provide an update to the community.
