Dog Off-Leash Season Extended In Boise Till April 30 At 2 City Parks

In addition, visitors are asked to follow recommended hand hygiene and social distancing techniques when using city parks and open spaces.

Because spring leagues have been postponed or cancelled due to coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns, Boise Parks and Recreation is reinstating its popular seasonal dog off-leash program, effective immediately, at Ann Morrison Park (1000 S Americana Blvd.) and Optimist Youth Sports Complex (9889 W Hill Rd. Pkwy.). The program will run through the end of April.

“During a time of uncertainty and stress, we are glad to be able to offer another opportunity for people and their pets to get outside and reap the benefits of fresh air and exercise,” said Boise Parks and Recreation Director Doug Holloway. “We hope it provides a much needed positive outlet for citizens.”

Together Treasure Valley Dog Island in Ann Morrison Park is also open. Parks and Recreation is encouraging dog owners, if possible, to spread out in Ann Morrison Park to give the turf at Dog Island a break and a chance to recover following a wet winter.
