Grand Opening For New Bown Crossing Library Held Thursday
The Boise Public Library system opened its fourth location Thursday at Bown Crossing.

BOISE, ID - The Boise Public Library system held a grand opening Thursday for its fourth location at Bown Crossing. It took seven years to plan and build the library, which is only the second facility in the system built specifically as a library. At the grand opening ceremony, Mayor Dave Bieter and Library Director Kevin Booe gave remarks before cutting a ribbon at the front door.
"Unbelievably proud and excited to announce that the library at Bown Crossing is officially open!" Bieter wrote on Twitter shortly after the opening.

- 16,000 square feet of public space
- Open six days a week, totaling 50 hours
- 40,000 books, DVDs, audiobooks, and video games
- 28 PCs and 12 mobile devices for public use
- Wireless internet access (WiFi)
- Virtual reality room
- 3D printers
- Coding robots
- Self-service checkout
- Print/copy/scan center
- Programs and events for all ages
