Missing Boise Girls Returned Safely After Amber Alert
Jaylynn Dundon, 6, and Madison Dundon, 7, were reported missing via Amber Alert on Monday.
BOISE, ID - Two young Boise girls reported missing on Monday via an Amber Alert were recovering at a local hospital on Wednesday after they were found in rural Nevada, according to reports. Jaylynn, 6, and Madison Dundon, 7, hadn't been seen since May 10, and were thought to be with their father, Joshua Dundon. The Amber Alert went on out after Joshua Dundon's car was found burned in Eureka County in central Nevada.
According to the Idaho Statesman, Lester and Kathy Porter came across Dundon and his daughters and the burned truck while on a hike last Thursday. The Porters alerted firefighters about the truck, but it wasn't until a friend later told them about the missing girls that they put the strange scene together. They contacted the Eureka County Sheriff’s Office, and officers located the girls and Dundon in the rugged high-desert.
The girls were located hiding under a tree on Monday night, according to the report. The girls are expected to stay in the hospital in Boise for a few days to recover.
