Suspect With A Gun Arrested In Boise For Aggravated Assault

Around 7:30 p.m. Boise Police were dispatched to a report at a business on the 3500 block of S. Federal Way. Initial information indicated that a man and a woman were in a dispute at the store and the woman was armed with a hand gun. Officers arrived at the store, secured the scene and began an investigation. The suspect and the victim did not know each other. After reviewing surveillance video and conducting a thorough investigation, evidence showed that during an argument with the victim, the suspect indicated she was going to access her firearm, which was in a holster on her hip, causing the victim to fear for his safety.

Upon completion of the investigation, the suspect, identified as Julie Smith, was taken to the Ada County Jail on one felony charge of aggravated assault.
