Community members are invited to attend the city's Zoning Code Rewrite Public Kick-Off on November 5 and 7.
November 2, 2020
As we create a City for Everyone, it is vital to our city's future to bring our community together to discuss challenges and tradeoffs with the existing zoning code, and to explore how the Zoning Code Rewrite aims to create solutions for our community. Community members are invited to attend the city's Zoning Code Rewrite Public Kick-Off on November 5 and 7.

These Kick-Off events mark the beginning of the two-year process of revising the city's zoning code, which hasn't been significantly updated in over 55 years. Major goals of revising the city's zoning code include preserving and enhancing community character, keeping our neighborhoods people-scaled and people-centered, and creating solutions that serve our city's needs today and into the future. These events also provide community members the first of many opportunities to be involved in the Zoning Code Rewrite process, as the city seeks a zoning code that represents Boise's diverse community and geographies.
"I'm excited to see our community begin the necessary work of shaping Boise's future," said Mayor McLean. "Together, we will shape the future of our neighborhoods, our city, and the many places people live, work, and play. And we'll do it making sure we protect what we love about our city, while also highlighting the value we place in providing everyone a home they can afford with access to opportunities that will support their families."

There are two opportunities to participate in the Kick-Off. Both events are open to all community members, and each session will include the same material, so residents only need to sign up for one session.
Interested residents should register to attend no later than one hour prior to each event. Community members wishing to watch but not participate can view the event live on YouTube. Both events will also be recorded and made available online on the Zoning Code Rewrite website.
