Idaho Innovation Center moving its campus across town (localnews8.com) — Idaho Falls entrepreneurs will soon find the Idaho Innovation Center in a new home, as the long-time North Yellowstone campus moves into the former Melaleuca headquarters on South Yellowstone Highway. The business incubator, known for helping ventures like Grease Monkey, Eagle Rock Dance, and Hapinest grow, plans a rebrand and hopes to relocate its commercial kitchen. Leaders say the move will expand resources for local startups.
2. Everyone deserves a Seat at the Table: Idaho Foodbank fundraiser highlights growing hunger in our communities (localnews8.com) — A recent Idaho Foodbank fundraiser at Snake River Landing in Idaho Falls spotlighted how rising costs are driving hunger for thousands of Idahoans, including many local kids. With a Pocatello distribution center supplying the Community Food Basket and Idaho Falls Rescue Mission, the nonprofit serves 200,000 people monthly and relies heavily on donations and volunteers to keep food flowing across eastern Idaho.
3. First Hispanic woman in space to visit Idaho Falls on Wednesday (postregister.com) — Idaho Falls residents can hear former NASA astronaut Ellen Ochoa speak Wednesday at the College of Eastern Idaho's inaugural Inspire Event, "From Earth to Orbit." The first Hispanic woman in space will share stories from her four shuttle missions, leadership at Johnson Space Center, and life after NASA. Tickets are tiered for the public, VIS members, and students, with a book-signing afterward.
4. Thunder Ridge pulls away to beat Idaho Falls 48-13 (localnews8.com) — Idaho Falls football fans saw a tough night at Ravsten Stadium as the Tigers fell 48-13 to Thunder Ridge after a decisive late-second-quarter surge. Despite standout defensive efforts from players like Johnny Pyper and Kenyon Spencer, Thunder Ridge's big plays on offense, defense, and special teams broke the game open before halftime. The Tigers face Pocatello next week.
5. Erickson and Campbell married last month (postregister.com) — A local couple with ties to Rigby and Farmington were married August 29 at the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their families hosted one reception in Idaho Falls and another in Utah before the newlyweds settled in Rexburg to attend BYU–Idaho, studying mechanical engineering and medical lab science.
