1. CEI Board appoints new trustee (postregister.com) — Idaho Falls native Jeff Carr has been appointed to the College of Eastern Idaho Board of Trustees, giving the community another strong local voice in the college's future. Carr, who leads the Museum of Idaho and has deep education and nonprofit experience, is expected to help guide CEI's growth, workforce role, and service to eastern Idaho students.
2. Second destructive Idaho Falls area fire within 48 hours guts another home and vehicles (idahopress.com) — A major fire northeast of Idaho Falls Friday night destroyed a manufactured home and two vehicles, the second such destructive blaze in the area in 48 hours. Idaho Falls firefighters contained the flames before they could heavily damage a neighboring house, and no serious injuries were reported, though losses are estimated around $250,000 while investigators work to determine the causes.
3. Get ready to cut loose! Center Stage Theatre adds 'Footloose' to 2027 lineup (eastidahonews.com) — Idaho Falls theater fans can look forward to dancing in the aisles when Center Stage Theatre brings the musical "Footloose" to town from July 16 through August 28, 2027. The show joins a stacked 2027 season that also includes "Les Misérables," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "Come From Away," and a musical "A Christmas Story," with season passes already on sale.
4. Skyline Grizzlies outlast Pocatello in shootout win (idahostatejournal.com) — Skyline's football team, which will later face rival Idaho Falls, moved to 3-0 with a high-scoring road win over Pocatello but left the field knowing they must clean up turnovers and penalties. Coaches and players stressed the need for sharper, more disciplined play as they look ahead to a tough schedule that includes Idaho Falls, Blackfoot, Hillcrest and Shelley.

The Idaho Potato Museum (postregister.com) — Idaho Falls residents play key leadership roles at the Idaho Potato Museum in nearby Blackfoot, where the director lives in Idaho Falls and a museum manager is an Idaho Falls native. The article traces the museum's growth, its educational mission about Idaho's potato heritage, and the many exhibits and cafe offerings that now draw tens of thousands of visitors each year.
