Riding his restored 1987 bicycle in honor of his late mother, he finished after 13 hours, supported by family and local businesses and determined to keep moving forward.

Motorcyclist hits bear near Swan Valley in third recent large-animal crash on East Idaho roads (idahostatejournal.com) — A motorcyclist from Jackson, Wyoming, was seriously injured after hitting a bear on Highway 31 and was airlifted to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. The collision is the third recent serious crash with large animals on East Idaho roads, prompting renewed concern about wildlife hazards for local drivers.
   

3. All-American Cleaning & Restoration Athlete of the Week – Will Thompson – Oct. 8, 2026 (localnews8.com) — Idaho Falls High School quarterback Will Thompson has been named Athlete of the Week after leading the Tigers to an Emotion Bowl win over Skyline with three touchdowns. Coaches praised his playmaking and leadership, while the team quickly shifted focus to preparing for Hillcrest despite losing a day of practice. The Tigers say their mindset is already on the next challenge.

Idaho US Attorney Bart Davis announces retirement from Justice Department (idahopress.com) — Idaho Falls residents may recognize Bart Davis, who once practiced law in town and later became Idaho's top federal prosecutor; he will retire as U.S. attorney on Oct. 17.
