• Detention officer seriously injured in motorcycle crash with bear (jhnewsandguide.com) — A longtime Teton County detention officer is in serious condition at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls after striking a black bear on his motorcycle along Pine Creek Pass. The crash highlights the risks of wildlife collisions on nearby highways, as state data show nearly 2,000 animal-related crashes in Idaho last year, including several with serious injuries.
   

• Two young people die when pickup truck leaves local road, lands upside down in Snake River (idahostatejournal.com) — A juvenile from Idaho Falls and an 18-year-old from Rigby were killed Saturday morning when their pickup left Twin Butte Road near Menan and overturned into the Snake River. Multiple local agencies, including Bonneville County's dive team, responded, and Idaho State Police are still investigating what caused the truck to leave the roadway.
