• Idaho Department of Health and Welfare offering grants to improve rural healthcare (kmvt.com) — Twin Falls organizations now have a fresh chance to tap major state grants aimed at improving rural healthcare, from hiring doctors and nurses to upgrading equipment and broadband. Idaho's Health and Welfare director says nearly $186 million a year is available statewide, and nonprofits, faith groups, schools, and other community organizations in and around Twin Falls are encouraged to apply.
• Extreme, exceptional drought expands in Northwest; 91% in Oregon (rv-times.com) — Twin Falls County is now more than half covered by "exceptional" drought, the most severe category on the U.S. Drought Monitor, alongside neighboring Cassia and Owyhee counties. The report shows 74.5% of Idaho in some level of drought, underscoring ongoing water stress that affects local agriculture, groundwater, and everyday water use for Twin Falls residents.
• Gooding, Hagerman ride explosive offense to wins: Week 1 Football Scores (idahostatesman.com) — Twin Falls High fell 13–8 to Vallivue, dropping the Bruins to 0–2 as they look ahead to a revenge shot against Hillcrest, last year's playoff nemesis. Around the Magic Valley, Gooding, Hagerman, Hansen and several other programs opened with big offensive performances, setting up intriguing week-two matchups for local fans.
