2 IL Hospitals Ranked Among Nation's Best: Report

ILLINOIS — Local residents should feel a bit safer knowing two Illinois hospitals are among the 20 best in the country in U.S. News & World Report’s 2024-2025 Best Hospitals ranking released Tuesday.

For its 35th annual report, U.S. News evaluated more than 5,000 hospitals based on their performance across 30 medical and surgical services.

The honor roll hospitals in Illinois are Northwestern Medicine-Northwester Memorial Hospital (Chicago) and Rush University Medical Center (Chicago). U.S. News also ranked the top 10 regional hospitals In Illinois:

1. Northwestern Medicine-Northwester Memorial Hospital (Chicago)
2. Rush University Medical Center (Chicago)
3. University of Chicago Medical Center (Chicago)
4. Endeavor Health NorthShore Hospitals (Evanston)
5. Advocate Christ Medical Center (Oak Lawn)
6. Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital (Barrington)
7. Advocate Lutheran General Hospital (Park Ridge)
8. Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital (Winfield)
9. Endeavor Health Edward Hospital (Warrenville)
10. Loyola University Medical Center (Maywood)

These hospitals are among the 466 Best Regional Hospitals in the country, according to U.S. News.

To calculate the 2024-2025 Best Hospitals for the Honor Roll, specialty and region, U.S. News evaluated each hospital’s performance using a variety of measures. Data came from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, American Hospital Association, professional organizations, and medical specialists. The Procedures & Conditions ratings are based entirely on objective patient care measures.
