Illinois Men Killed In Wisconsin Dells Crash Identified

Police say the men were riding in an SUV when it failed to yield at a stop sign.

COLUMBIA COUNTY, WI — Three men from Illinois were killed when their Toyota 4Runner collided with a Chevy Silverado pickup truck at around 6 p.m. Saturday on State Highway 127 near Wisconsin Dells. Police said the 4Runner failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign. The three occupants of the Toyota, all from Illinois, died at the scene, according to the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

The men were identified as Kazimierz J. Kenar, 62, of Wauconda; and Paul J. Kenar, 39, and Andrzej Marczyk, 48, both of Harwood Heights.

Police said the driver of the pickup, a 33-year-old woman, was flown to UW Hospital, and her passenger, a 33-year-old man, was taken to St. Clare Hospital.

Police said it appears that none of the occupants of the Toyota were wearing seatbelts, while "both occupants of the Chevrolet were properly restrained."

The intersection at the crash site was closed for investigation and for repairs to a utility pole following the crash, police said.
