70s For The Rest Of The Week, Rainy Weekend Possible For Illinois
Weather will be "typical" for mid-September, the weather service said.
ILLINOIS — A "typical mid-September" week is expected for the rest of this week, according to the National Weather Service. As we approach the weekend, however, a few showers may be possible.
Highs for the rest of the work week will be in the 70s, with a high of 73 on Wednesday, 75 on Thursday and 79 on Friday. Also typical for mid-September, nights will be cooler, with lows in the 40s.
70s continue into the weekend, with a high of 78 on Saturday and a high of 74 on Sunday, according to the weather service.

"High pressure will remain in control through Friday, with temperatures warming back to near normal," the weather service said.
Isolated to scattered showers are possible on Saturday across northern Illinois, and a few showers are possible again on Sunday near the lake, according to the weather service.
