80s To Start The Week, Before Cold Front Cools Temps To 70s For IL

The weather service said a cold front will lower temperatures on Wednesday through Friday, especially in northeastern Illinois.

ILLINOIS — Temperatures in the beginning of the week, before a "backdoor cold front" moves across the area and brings temps back down to the 70s for the latter half of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday and Tuesday will be the warmest days of the week, with a high of 84 on Monday and a high of 86 on Tuesday.

The weather service said a cold front will lower temperatures on Wednesday through Friday, especially in northeastern Illinois. The high for Wednesday is 78, the high for Thursday is 72 and the high for Friday is 74.

AccuWeather's forecast shows Thursday as the coldest day of the week for Joliet. Thursday will have "plenty of sunshine" but a high of 66 degrees.

The entire week will remain dry and sunny, with no precipitation in the forecast.

Memorial Day weekend looks pleasant so far, as a high of 75 is expected on Saturday and a high of 78 on Sunday.
