Storms Possible Sunday, Hot & Humid Weekend: IL Weather

ILLINOIS — A very warm and humid weekend is in the forecast for the Chicago area, as highs in the 90s are expected on Saturday and Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Before the heat on Saturday and Sunday, Friday will have a high of 87 degrees, and there could be an isolated shower or storm. An afternoon shower is possible, mainly in the Chicago metro area and south of Interstate 80, the weather service said.

Saturday will have a high of 92 degrees, and Sunday a high of 91, according to the weather service.

AccuWeather is also calling for a hot and humid Saturday, and said there is a "possible danger of dehydration and heat stroke while doing strenuous activities."

While Saturday will be dry and sunny, storms are possible on Sunday, according to the weather service. Storms are possible Sunday afternoon, and again late Sunday.

Monday will be cooler with a high of 83, but the chance of storms could continue, especially south of I-80, according to the weather service forecast.
