Accumulating Snow Possible This Week For Chicago Area

A few chances of snow are possible this week for the Chicago area, as temperatures stay in the 30s and even 40s, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Monday will be the coldest day of the week, with a high of 30 degrees.

"[Tuesday] will be a bit milder, but windy," the weather service said. The high for the day is 44 degrees, and there is a small chance of snow/rain north of Interstate 88.

Wednesday will have a high of 41, and there is a potential for accumulating snow on Wednesday night, according to the weather service.

Accumulating snow is also possible on Thursday, which has a high of 38 degrees. Friday will close out the week with sunny weather, and the mildest temps of the week with a high of 51 degrees, according to the current forecast.

MONDAY: A chance of snow showers before 8 a.m., then a chance of flurries after 8 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 28. North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 18. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 23. Breezy, with a west northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

WEDNESDAY: Sunny, with a high near 35. West northwest wind 5 to 15 mph.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: A 40 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.
