Accused Teen Killers 'Wanted To Be Together,' Had Instagram 'List' Before Family Mass Murders: Reports
Among the five family members killed are reportedly the teen girl's grandmother, aunt, cousin and siblings.
EAST ST. LOUIS — More disturbing details have been released in a quintuple family slaying in Illinois after a 15-year-old girl and her 16-year-old boyfriend were arrested in the slayings.
Illinois State Police say five of the girl's relatives were slain and two others were wounded in the mass family shooting that spanned three locations. The victims were identified by family and media reports as the 15-year-old's grandmother, aunt, a cousin and siblings.

The girl's mother and a cousin reportedly survived the shootings, according to 5 On Your Side.
According to authorities, 16-year-old Ja’ymier Davis faces five counts of first-degree murder and multiple other felonies, including dismembering a human body, attempted murder and aggravated vehicular hijacking. A juvenile petition was filed against the 15-year-old girl, whose name was not released, and the St. Clair County State’s Attorney will request that her case be transferred to adult criminal court, state police said.

Most of the victims were shot on Sunday, according to police, but officials say the teen's aunt, 49-year-old Cherie May, is believed to have been killed days before her body was found in a tote behind a Dumpster at the Samuel Gompers Housing Development.
The other victims were identified as 25-year-old Shania W. Thompson, 24-year-old Devin May, 21-year-old Quentin L. Thompson and 74-year-old Patricia A. May.
Police say the housing development is where three of the victims were killed, while another died at a home at 39th Street and Summit Avenue. Three additional victims were also shot, one fatally, at Jones Park in East St. Louis.
Prosecutors said Wednesday that Devin May and Patricia May drove to Cherie May's apartment Sunday when they were unable to reach her, where Davis is accused of shooting Devin May in the head, according to Fox 2 Now.
Fox reported that prosecutors allege the teens then lured Patricia May, who was waiting outside in the car, into the apartment, where she was also killed. Patricia May is reportedly the 15-year-old girl's grandmother.
Davis is accused of severing Patricia May's thumb, which was used to access the 74-year-old woman's iPhone, according to reports. The thumb was reportedly found in the center console of the teen's vehicle.
The teen girl's father, Marcus May, said his daughter had previously run away from home and stolen her mother's debit card, and the girl had also reportedly stolen her mother's gun and run away again last week, according to the New York Post.
Before the Jones Park "final ambush," 5 on Your Side reported that the girl's mother and two other relatives picked both teens up from a transit bus, unaware that the duo had already killed several relatives. That shooting reportedly began inside the vehicle.
The husband of one of the survivors told ABC Chicago he believed the motive had to do with the teenagers' relationship.
"She stood over my wife trying to kill her, but they had no more bullets," Lamarion Smiley told ABC Chicago. He also alleged that the teenage couple made a "list" on Instagram before carrying out the shootings, pointing to an alleged motive: "It's all because y'all wanted to be together, so she wanted, they wanted to eliminate everybody that had a problem with the situation."

At least one GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help surviving family members.
" The media has called this tragedy a massacre, and the pain is compounded by the circumstances—two young family members were responsible for these devastating murders," said one campaign for a relative who lost her mother, Cherie May; grandmother, Patricia May; and brother, Devin May.
The fundraiser notes that Devin May also leaves behind a 1-year-old daughter.
