Air Quality Alert Friday, Temps Stay In The 90s All Weekend For IL

Concertgoers for Taylor Swift's shows in Chicago won't have to worry about rain in the forecast, as it will be dry all weekend.

ILLINOIS — There won't be any "midnight rain" this weekend as dry weather and temperatures in the 90s are expected through the weekend, as Taylor Swift is set to play three shows at Chicago's Soldier Field.

Concertgoers won't have to worry about rain in the forecast, as it will be dry all weekend. It will be a bit cooler near the lake, with temps in the 70s to low 80s. Away from the lake, the high for Saturday is 94, 91 on Sunday and 90 on Monday, according to the weather service.

An air quality alert is in effect for the Chicago area today, due to elevated ozone levels, the weather service said. The alert is in effect through Friday night, and the weather service advised that those with chronic respiratory illness should limit their time outdoors.

Saturday could break the record high of 90 degrees, which was set in 2011, according to AccuWeather. The private forecaster gave a high of 92 for Joliet, and said "caution advised if doing strenuous activities outside."
