Storms are possible Monday as warm and breezy conditions are expected for the Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service. There is also a potential for blowing dust in rural areas.
"The strong winds and low relative humidity may also lead to an elevated fire danger in drier agricultural fields," the weather service said on its Facebook. Blowing dust is especially possible in rural areas near and south of Interstate 80.
Storms are also possible late Monday afternoon into the evening, and a few could be strong to severe. The main time frame for storms is 5 p.m. Monday to 2 a.m. Tuesday.
The high temperature on Monday is 81 degrees, but cooler temperatures will return for the middle of the week. According to the current forecast, temps the rest of the week look to be in the upper 50s or low 60s.
