ILLINOIS BEACH, IL — A man died after bystanders pulled him from the water, where witnesses said he was jumping from shoreline rocks into Lake Michigan at Illinois Beach State Park on Sunday, the Lake County Sheriff's office told Fox 32.
Deputies were called to the scene just after 4:30 p.m. to Illinois Beach for a possible drowning, and when they arrived, witnesses told them that good Samaritans had pulled him from the water near the shoreline rocks, according to the outlet.
Deputies helped bring the man to shore and began CPR after finding him cold and unresponsive, and he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, the outlet reported.
