While spooky season is still a month away, some of the nation's most popular Halloween stores are already open.
Spirit Halloween, known as the world's largest specialty Halloween retailer, will open 56 stores in Illinois, most of which pop up annually in empty retail stores.

The company operates more than 1,500 stores nationwide. Illinois's stores are spread across 50 communities.
