After a weekend with chillier temperatures, plenty of sunshine and warmer than normal temperatures are expected this week, according to the National Weather Service.
The entire week also looks dry, the weather service said.
"Temperatures are expected to be above to much above average for the later part of October," NWS shared on its Facebook page.
Monday will have a high of 70 degrees, and temperatures will warm gradually through the week, with a high of 75 expected on Friday.
For any winter and snow lovers out there, it looks like you'll have to wait a little longer for your favorite time of the year. Chicago's average first trace of snow is Oct. 31, but there is no sign of snow in the forecast this week.
While the last day of October is the "normal" first date for a trace or more of snow, there have been years where snow has taken longer to fall. The "latest" first trace or more of snow happened on Dec. 5 (in 1999), according to weather service data.
