The start of the work week will be "cloudy, breezy and mild," the National Weather Service shared.

Monday will have a high of 65 and Tuesday a high of 75 degrees, but rain is possible as a "slow-moving weather system" approaches the Chicago area, according to the weather service.

"The first widespread soaking rainfall in a few weeks is expected later Tuesday into early Wednesday ahead of the system's cold front," the weather service shared.

Wednesday's high temp will be 69 degrees, followed by 62 on Thursday. It will be slightly cooler for the second half of the work week, but still above average for early November, the weather service added.

Temperatures for the weekend look to get even cooler.

Where's The Snow?

Any snow lovers out there may have noticed that we have yet to have our first flakes of the season. We have now passed the "normal" first date for a trace or more of snow, which is Oct. 31.

The latest first date for a trace of more of snow happened in 1999, when snow didn't fall until Dec. 5, according to weather service data.

The normal first date for "measurable" snow (.1 inches or more) is approaching on Nov. 18. We will see if the Chicago area has any snowflakes by then, although this week's forecast seems unlikely for that to happen.

Here is a more detailed look at the weather this week for the Joliet area, per the weather service:
