A 5-year-old boy was critically injured after being struck by a car while riding an electric scooter in Bridgeview, while a Skokie dealership employee died after a car fell on him.
Elsewhere, a Des Plaines woman died after being pulled from Lake Michigan near Grant Park, and another Des Plaines resident was killed in a motorcycle crash in Mount Prospect.
There was some good news mixed in, too: A Lemont High School senior earned a perfect ACT score, while a Chicago Ridge Mall community campaign wrapped up with a food drive, lemonade stand and prizes.

- Car Falls On, Kills Dealership Employee In Skokie — A 33-year-old employee was killed Thursday night after a car fell on him at a Skokie dealership. Authorities said foul play was not suspected.
- Suburban Woman Dies After Being Pulled From Lake Michigan Near Grant Park — Martina Ronak Christian, 34, of Des Plaines, died after being pulled from Lake Michigan near Monroe Harbor Friday night. The incident remains under investigation.
- Chicago Ridge Mall Wraps '250 Acts Of Community' With Lemonade Stand, Food Drive, Prizes — The mall capped its "250 Acts of Community" campaign with a lemonade stand and food drive benefiting the Pilgrim Faith Food Pantry, with shoppers also eligible for gift-card raffles.
- Des Plaines Motorcyclist, 31, Killed In Mount Prospect Crash — Daniel Nikov, 31, died after his motorcycle collided with a Jeep Saturday night at Oakton Street and First Avenue. Mount Prospect police continue to investigate.
- Palos Hills Woman Sentenced For Role In Forging Opiate Prescriptions — Amani Ibrahim, 48, was sentenced to five years in federal prison for her role in a prescription-forging scheme that prosecutors said involved more than 149,000 doses of oxycodone and tens of thousands of other controlled substances.
- Power Knocked Out In Joliet After Pickup Truck Hits Utility Pole, 2 People Flee Scene — Police said a pickup truck struck a utility pole and fence before ending up in a backyard early Saturday. The driver and a passenger fled on foot, and the crash caused a power outage in the area.
