Chance Of Storms Return To Chicago Area, Warmer Temps In Store

The warmest day of the week looks to be Tuesday, which has a high of 79 degrees.

Warmest temperatures are on the way this week, with highs in the 60s and 70s expected all week, according to the National Weather Service.

Monday will start off the week sunny and dry, with a high of 66 degrees.

"Expect windy conditions on Tuesday with increasing chances of rain and thunderstorms through the day and into the evening," the weather service said. Tuesday will have a high of 79 degrees.

Temperatures will cool slightly on Wednesday with a high of 67, and start to warm again through the rest of the week, according to the current forecast. Thursday will have a high of 70 degrees and Friday a high of 75 degrees.

According to the weather service, there is a limited thunderstorm risk on Tuesday, as well as a limited thunderstorm risk for Thursday through Saturday.

MONDAY: Sunny, with a high near 61. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph.

MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 40. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

TUESDAY: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 75. Breezy, with a southwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 p.m., then a chance of showers between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 50. Breezy, with a west wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 63. Breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 42.

THURSDAY: Sunny, with a high near 68.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 48.

FRIDAY: A chance of showers after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 72. Breezy.
