Chicago Area Haunted House Guide For Halloween 2026

If you like scary thrills, the Chicago area has lots of places keep you busy.

ILLINOIS — October has arrived, and that means it's time for all things spooky, including heading out to a haunted house in the area. If you like scary thrills, the Chicago area has lots of offerings on tap to keep you busy.

Patch has assembled the following lineup for some of the most popular locations to visit this Halloween season. Maybe this year is the perfect opportunity to visit a new place, somewhere you haven't tried before.


Blood Moon Manor: 310 South Broadway, Forest City.

  • "We have three terrifying trails, you begin your journey in "Paranoia" - the twists and turns will overload our senses...move through to our newest section, the BioLab, can you escape without being infected? Escape the "Forest of the Damned" and fight to save your soul?"
  • According to its website, Blood Moon Manor is open the last weekend in September, Every Friday and Saturday in October, but is closed Halloween night.
  • Ticket Booth Hours: 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

5 Points Haunted House: Located at 241 W Roosevelt Road in West Chicago.

  • "The creators of the Lehman Manor home haunt have gone to the next level and opened up the 5 Points Haunted house in a 100-year old barn once known for it's amazing live music club and restaurant on historic Rt 38," according to its website.
  • General admission is $25 per person, and $35 per person for RIP tickets.
  • The haunted house is open Oct. 2-4, Oct. 8-11, Oct. 15-18, Oct. 21-25 and Oct. 28-31.

Hayride of Horror, Curse of the Bayou: Dellwood Park, Lockport:

  • Year 11 of the Lockport Township Park District's Haunted House.
  • 2026 dates are Oct. 2-3, Oct. 9-10, Oct. 16-17, Oct. 23-25, Oct. 29-30.
  • Tickets are $15 per person for one of the attractions, or $25 per person for both Hayride of Horror and Curse of the Bayou. Ticket prices increase the final two Saturdays by $5 per ticket. For more information, visit the website.

Hellsgate Haunted House, Lockport:

  • Parking is available at 301 W. Second St., in Lockport, and guests will take a 5-minute shuttle from the parking lot to the drop-off at HellsGate.
  • 2026 dates are Oct. 1-4, Oct. 8-11, Oct. 14-18, Oct. 21-25, and Oct. 28-Nov. 1.
  • Tickets are $40-45 online for general admission, and $60-65 for VIP. Tickets will cost more if you buy on-site.

Camp Tuckabatchee's Haunted Camp, Ottawa:

  • Haunted camp fundraiser at the summer youth camp, 1973 N. 35th Road, in Ottaway. "Haunted Camp Tuck for Camp Tuckabatchee is where fall in Starved Rock Country gets dark, creepy, and a whole lot of fun," according to the camp website.
  • Open Fridays and Saturdays in October, from 4 to 10 p.m.

Basement of the Dead Haunted House, downtown Aurora

  • Open Oct. 2-4, Oct. 8-12, Oct. 15-18, Oct. 21-25, Oct. 27-Nov. 1 and Nov. 6-7.
  • Ticket prices vary, general admission is $29 online. Ticket prices increase at the door.
  • "Welcome to the Basement of the Dead Haunted House, where horror and thrills await. We are not your average haunted house attraction—we are a nightmare come to life," according to the haunted house's website.

13th Floor Haunted House Chicago

  • 5050 River Road, Schiller Park
  • Open Oct-2-4, Oct. 7-12, Oct. 14-18, Oct. 20-Nov. 1, Nov. 6-8.
  • Event may be too intense for children 12 and under
  • Ticket cost varies, starting at $24.99, but up to $39.99 depending on date.

Disturbia Haunted House

  • 1213 Butterfield Road, Downers Grove
  • Open Oct. 1-4, Oct. 8-12, Oct. 15-18, Oct. 21-Nov. 1, Nov. 6-7, and Nov. 13
  • Ticket prices vary, general admission is $29.99 per person. Ticket prices will increase closer to event dates.

Midnight Terror Haunted House

  • 5520 W. 111th St., Oak Lawn
  • "New scarezones. A bigger midway with more to do. Remodeled rooms and fresh scares waiting around every corner. We even rebuilt the queue line, so the fear starts before you're through the door," its website states.
  • Open Oct. 2-4, Oct. 9-11, Oct. 16-18, Oct. 22-25, Oct. 28-Nov. 1
  • Oct. 24 is lights-on trick-or-treating from noon to 2 p.m. Dress in costumes for the family-friendly event. No scares, and the lights are on.
  • Cost: Ticket prices vary, you can save $5 if you buy online compared to on-site.

The Massacre Haunted House

  • 299 Montgomery Road, Montgomery
  • Open Oct. 2-4, Oct. 9-11, Oct. 15-18, Oct. 22-25, Oct. 28-31
  • General admission is $36.99, other ticket options are available.
  • "For the 2026 season, we've completed an all-new 3,000-square-foot expansion and renovation, replacing the former 3D Haunted House with a terrifying new attraction: The Asylum," the website shares.

Realm of Terror Haunted House

  • 421 Rollins Road, Round Lake Beach
  • Open Oct. 3, Oct. 9-11, Oct. 16-18, Oct. 23-25 and Oct. 29-31.
  • Online admission from $19.99, other ticket option prices vary

Dungeon Of Doom

  • 600 29th St., Zion
  • Open from Oct. 2-3, Oct. 9-11, Oct. 16-18, Oct. 23-25, Oct. 30-Nov. 1, Nov. 6-7
  • General admission starts at $34.99.
  • Nov. 6-7 is blackout night, which is completely pitch black with a single glow stick
  • Also open for sub-thermal nightmare on Dec. 11-12
  • "This premier haunted house has operated since 1997, turning fear into a professional craft for nearly thirty years," its website shares.

Heap's Haunted Corn Maze

  • 4853 US-52, Minooka
  • Open 2-3, Oct. 9-11, Oct. 16-18, Oct. 23-25 and Oct. 30
  • Haunted maze is $25, flashlight maze is $6 (non-haunted), moonlight non-haunted hayride is $6.
  • Moonlight combo special which includes corn maze, flashlight maze and moonlight hayride is $30
  • Fast pass is $37
