Cold Front Moves Through On Thursday; Dry, Hot Weekend Expected In IL

After cooler, rainy days, the rest of the week looks warmer and sunny.

ILLINOIS — Temperatures are finally warming on Wednesday after two days of cooler, rainy weather.

There is a small chance of an isolated shower on Wednesday, but the high for the day is much warmer at 84 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.


Thursday will be even warmer with a high of 89 degrees, and a stray shower or storm is possible, the weather service said. Thursday afternoon will also see "sharply-falling temperatures" across parts of northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana as a lake-enhanced cold front moves through the area.

Temperatures are expected to be cooler near the lake, but will stay in the 80s through the weekend for the rest of the area. The weekend will also be dry and sunny.

A high of 83 is expected on Friday, and a high of 87 on both Saturday and Sunday, according to the weather service.
