Cruise Nights, Classic Cars: Illinois Car Show Round-Up

ILLINOIS — Summer days are almost upon us, and that means it's time for car shows across the Chicago area.

Whether you have a Ford or a Ferrari, there are car show that will showcase all kinds of makes and models. Held through the summer, most car shows also feature live entertainment and some delicious snacks as well.

Check out our guide below, and head out to your favorite car show this summer.

COOK COUNTY

• Hometown VFW Cruise Night, every Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. weather permitting, Hometown Shopping Plaza, at 87th Street and Southwest Highway.
• Lemont Cruise Nights, downtown Lemont. Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. June 7 through Aug. 30. Prizes are awarded by category on a weekly basis.
• Cars and Coffee, at Premier Lounge, 2626 Golf Road, Glenview on May 28. 9 a.m. to noon. Cars and Coffee is an informal car show featuring new and classic cars. All car makes are welcome.
• Cruise Nights, along Oak Park Avenue in Tinley Park. 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays through Aug. 29.

DUPAGE COUNTY

• Moose Cruise Nights, at Loyal Order of Moose Downers Grove Lodge 1535, 1030 Warren Ave., Downers Grove. 4 to 8 p.m., every Friday through Sept. 1. $10 suggested donation for car owners who want to take part.
• Vintage Rides, downtown Wheaton. 5 to 9 p.m. on June 6, June 20, June 27, July 11, July 25, Aug. 8 and Aug. 22.

MCHENRY COUNTY

• Illinois Railway Museum Vintage Transport Extravaganza, 7000 Olson Road in Union, Aug. 6. Admission is $18 for adults; $16 for seniors; and $14 for children. Come see antique vehicles, trucks, buses and more.

WILL COUNTY

• Cruise the Commons, 145-199 Veterans Parkway in New Lenox. Held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month through September. Free to attend and free to register your ride.
• Frankfort Car Club's Cruise Nights, across the street from Trail's Edge Restaurant, 20 Kansas St., in downtown Frankfort. Held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday nights from June 5 through Sept. 24.
• Cruisin' Into Lockport, at Ninth and State streets in downtown Lockport. 4 to 8 p.m. on Mondays through Aug. 28.
• Bolingbrook Summer Cruze Show during Bolingbrook Jubilee, at Town Center, 375 W. Briarcliff Road. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 19. (Gates open at 8 a.m.). Pre-registration not required, $10 entry fee.
• Lemont Classic Car Club Cruise Nights at Konow's Corn Maze, 16849 S. Cedar Road in Homer Glen. Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. through Sept. 14. For more information, visit the Lemont Classic Car Club website.
• Babe's Hot Dogs Cruise Nights, 2600 W. Jefferson St. in Joliet. 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 11. Entry fee is $20.
• Plainfield Cruise Nights, downtown Plainfield along Lockport Street. From 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, June 6 through Aug. 22.
