Dry, Seasonable Temps This Week, More Warmth May Be On The Way For IL

The week should be mostly dry, besides a chance of rain on Tuesday.

ILLINOIS — A mostly "dry and seasonal" week of weather is expected this week, according to the National Weather Service. Besides a chance of rain on Tuesday, the entire week should be dry and sunny.

"Temperatures will be seasonable for late August with comfortable humidity," the weather service said.

Monday has a high of 80, Tuesday a high of 84, Wednesday a high of 74, Thursday a high of 80, and Friday a high of 86. There is a chance of scattered afternoon storms on Tuesday, the weather service said.

There is a high swim risk for Lake Michigan beaches on Tuesday night, into Wednesday, according to the weather service.

After record-breaking heat last week, the Chicago area could see another bout of scorching temperatures, as temps look to hit the 90s again this Labor Day weekend. Saturday is forecast to have a high of 89, and Sunday a high of 90, according to the weather service.
