Dry, Sunny Weekend Ahead For Illinois

ILLINOIS — A pleasant weekend is ahead for Illinois, as temps stay around 80 degrees and plenty of sun is expected, according to the National Weather Service.

Before the weekend begins, there could be scattered showers and storms during the day on Friday, mostly south of Interstate 80, the weather service said.

Things will dry out for the weekend, as no rain is expected either Saturday or Sunday.

Saturday will have a high of 79 degrees, while Sunday will be slightly warmer with a high of 84.

Dangerous swimming conditions are expected Friday afternoon through Saturday morning, according to the weather service. Choppy waves will lead to rip currents and a high swim risk along Lake Michigan beaches in Illinois and parts of Indiana.

The next chance of rain looks to be Monday night, where there is a chance of thunderstorms, according to the weather service. The week will start off warm, with a high of 91 on Monday.
