Fire Risk Tuesday, Wednesday As Dry Weather Continues In Illinois

The next chance of rain won't be until this weekend.

ILLINOIS — Temperatures will warm to 90 degrees this week, as "abnormally dry" weather continues, according to the National Weather Service.

There is an elevated fire weather risk on Tuesday and Wednesday, and there will be gusty winds on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon, which would cause any fires to spread more quickly. Dry weather will continue through at least Saturday, the weather service said.

It will be cooler, in the 70s, near the lake all week. Away from the lake, temperatures will hover around 90 all week, according to the weather service.
