'Formidable' Warm-Up On The Way For Christmas Day

Fluctuating temperatures were the theme of the weekend, before a "formidable warm up" next week, according to the National Weather Service.

Sunday will turn colder again with a high near 30. Temperatures will warm into the 40s and possibly 50s at the start of the week, according to the current forecast.

"It does look like a more formidable warm up will commence next week, with much above average temperatures poised by Christmas Day," the weather service said on its Facebook.

Right now, the weather service is forecasting a high of 43 on Christmas Eve and a high near 50 on Christmas Day. AccuWeather gives a high of 48 on Christmas Eve, and 53 on Christmas Day.

According to the weather service, the warmest Christmas Day was in 1982, when it was 64 degrees. The second-warmest Christmas Day was in 2023, with a high of 59; followed by the third-warmest in 2019 with 57 degrees.
