Temperatures are expected to reach the low-to-mid 90s on Sunday and humid conditions could stick around until mid-to-late next week.

ILLINOIS — After a stretch of mostly pleasant summer weather during the mid-point of August, hot and humid conditions are scheduled to move into the area this weekend and could extend into the beginning of next week.

The National Weather Service forecasts that after a pleasant start to the weekend Friday and Saturday, temperatures and the humidity will crank up in intensity beginning on Sunday. Temperatures are forecasted to remain in the low-to-mid 80s on Saturday before more intense heat moves into the region on Sunday.

Forecasters are calling for temperatures to push to the lower 90s on Sunday with cooler temperatures moving into the northeast part of Illinois on Sunday night. Highs could reach 93 degrees before things settle a bit to start the week, the weather service said.
